Today I was hiking with a friend. I didn't expect it to be that nice. Honestly I was allready astonished by the fact that hiking trails do exist. There are really quiet a lot american folks that do not regard the car as the transportation device numero uno. The hike itself took us like six hours and was not to exhausting. The view from the top mountains was amazing and reminded me to view I enjoyed when I watched out of the air plane window when I arrived back in Junary. The only difference that I have plenty of time to enjoy it.
Unfortunately it was to misty to see the pacific at the horizon. However not too bad, since it won't have been my last hike.

We got up at 4 am because we had to drive more than 3 hours and then we did the Tongariro Crossing (http://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tongariro_Alpine_Crossing ). We also did the Mt. Doom (Mt. Ngauruhoe), which is optional along the way and quite steep and hard to climb because there's no real track up to the summit. Was pretty nice though, but when we were at the end we were at the end. :)
